Rosendo, alongside his son Joan Mateu, founded PRFM Barcelona (“Perfume” – “Parfum” without vowels). The renowned perfumer and Joan created their personal collection, which launched in 2015. The brand’s first release consisted of four fragrances, each distinguished by a simple numerical order from 1 to 4. After years of dedication, the Rosendo Mateu brand was finally ready to showcase why the “Maître Parfumeur” is considered one of the best perfumers in the world.

Joan Mateu, Rosendo’s son and trusted right-hand man, has a diverse background that combines technical architecture, media content creation, and entrepreneurship, all shaped by an extensive education in perfumery under his father’s guidance. Early in his career, Joan received training at Givaudan in New York, where he gained a deep understanding of raw materials and the fundamentals of fragrance creation. With a lifelong connection to the world of perfumery, Joan has worked as a perfume developer and today serves as the company’s manager, continuing the legacy of excellence his father established.
